to be seen in Timmendorf, but its lighthouse
is already from a distance recognizable.
Starting
from the
center 19. Century increased the navigation of and after Wismar clearly. Thus one in the
Wismarer advice decided the building of a lighthouse at
the beach of Timmendorf. Said done the work on the lighthouse
began in the year 1865.
Unfortunately it came to some interruptions, because the money was
limited and the craftsmen was only somehow or other paid.
Two years
rested the work completely, until finally
anno 1871 the building of the
Timmendorfer of lighthouse was completed. A simple building in the
style developed the time at that time. But nevertheless an
attraction for the Poeler population, who knew up to then only
your Fischerkaten and barns. With the tower and the function
building at the tower an important building for the safe navigation
in the Wismarer bay developed. This very day, after over 135 years the
lighthouse is to be shown fulfilled by Timmendorf in enterprise and like
at that time its task ships the way in the Wismarer port.
