There was also a small harbor in Gollwitz once for the grain trade. To escape around the market compulsion in the Hanseatic League city Wismar the noblemen shipped secret their grain above Gollwitz. The big supply of lake birds did the bird hunt very attractively and so some basket themselves were collected fully of eggs on the island Langenwerder seemed likely by the Gollwitzern.
Today the Gollwitzer mainly live from the holiday-makers, that from whole Germany and often to come also from Scandinavia arrivedly. Many holiday houses and vacation apartments neu entstanden. And also the gastronomic supply does not come here too shortly.
